Taking crochet hooks on a plane?

We’re flying from Manchester with Jet2 next week and I’ll want to crochet on the plane. Dare I risk taking my spare set of aluminium hooks or should I get a plastic or bamboo set? Does anyone have any recommendations? I’ll need small ones, like 2.5mm to 3mm and I’mm not sure plastic ones would be strong enough.

Check the website but most are fine with crochet hooks and often with knitting needles too

Yeah I did check the website but I’m still not sure if I should risk my metal hooks 😅

Given that they're relatively inexpensive I'd get plastic just in case. No recommendation as I only have metal in the small sizes. Have a good holiday, what are you crocheting?

Thanks! I’m not entirely sure yet, I mainly do amigurumi but it’s not really practical on holiday, I don’t want to have to squeeze in a bag of stuffing and then objects on the way home! I’m going to at least do one of those cute glasses holders that were all over social media a while ago, I have a pattern for a cat one. Then no doubt both DC will want one, so make that 3 😅 I don’t do blankets, too big and tedious. I get bored after a while. It’s a struggle to finish baby ones! I might do a sunflower granny square bag 🤔 I’ve been thinking about that for a while so might be a good opportunity to knuckle down and do it!

I've always taken a hook and yarn on planes and never had a problem.

I was crocheting with a metal hook on easyJet on Friday, and also a fortnight ago. No issues at Gatwick security.
