Can you pain a cake tin?

Can you paint a cake tin?
I want to use a cake tin as a base for a flower arrangement. Sturdy wil straight sides. It’s a metal colour at present and I need to cover or paint it. Any tips on how to do this and whether it would work?

I’ve painted metal containers with model enamel. Depending on how much you are painting something like smoothrite?

I think some really nice patterned card or paper could look really beautiful. Maybe a bit of spare wallpaper (or a sample). If not then you can paint metal with spray paints. You will probably want an undercoat spray too.
