Bristol Airport - knitting needles

Hi, has anyone flown from Bristol airport recently with knitting needles in their hand luggage?

I’ve been able to take them through security at other airports but guidance for Bristol says they are prohibeted BUT their security pages also contradict themselves about other things.

thanks 😊

My mum.went on holiday with her elderly friend. The security at a london airport confiscated her knitting needles and undid her knitting in the process! Don't risk it.

Crochet is your friend ☺️ I've never had a problem with my hook and ball of yarn.

They’re shorty circulars and it’s a recently cast on sock so I might risk it. Their website says no but a Facebook video post they did says yes. It’s very annoying!

Although I could take a crochet project… that might be a good plan b!!

Bring wooden ones not metal.

Been through several airports this year with plastic knitting needles. Not an issue. They took my small scissors out to measure them though!

Update - we cleared security with metal circular needles wedged into my yarn without any issue at all 🥳
