Ideas to salvage a broken mirror

Hi whilst moving house we broke our favourite mirror. It is around 6 ft wide by 3ft tall. The cracks are only round the edges so I am thinking glue it back together and add a frame , so shrinking the size of the glass exposed as a mirror. Does anyone have any ideas on what to frame it with , about a foot all the way wound. I would like a Mediterranean theme

You can get decorative wooden trim at B&Q, or you could go for a plain MdF border that you could then decorate with mosaic tiles for a Mediterranean feel.

You can get mirror glass cut to size in a glaziers and reuse the existing frame?
