Cheap, black acrylic yarn- anywhere like Marriners?

I crochet rugs and give them away to a hospice and local charities. Just DK, acrylic- not wool/cashmere etc.

I normally buy from charity shops/ebay, but used to top up on black at Marriners. My covid stash is at an end now.

Where do you buy reasonably priced, DK balls of yarn? In particular- black?

Home Bargains and suchlike usually have cheap acrylic, ditto The Works.

Lidl had wool when I was in there today but I didn't look at the colours.

@StrawberryFreckles Thanks, my local Aldi had wool which I saw, but it was either too chunky or not black.

People on ebay still sell Marriners, & it seems to come out at around £2 a ball including postage, if you buy packs. Just search on Marriners dk. You can ask ebay to save the search & email you when new things are listed.

Hayfield Bonus dk is good, too. Wool Warehouse are good to buy from, & it's also on ebay.

I actually found a 100g ball of Stylecraft acrylic black DK for £2 in John Lewis recently.
