DS told me the other day he wants to read a book about AGEK. (That is how he says Alex, his name) He is 20 months. He said he wants to learn to read without Mamma and Daddy and wants to read a book about Agek.

Sigh. Ok. So I can get a scrapbook and put pics of him in it and write things in it. I've had that idea. But is there anything else I can do? Do you have any brilliant ideas I have not thought of?

We used to make books for our dds. Lots of photographs of the family, with little speech bubbles of them all saying hello etc.

You could do an "Alex's day" type one aswell. take photographs of him getting up, getting dressed, eating brekkie etc, with captions.

Don't forget photos of favourite toys.

what would be his ideal day?
you could get him to help you "write" the story - then cut out pictures from comics/catalogues and photo's of AGEK and stick them all in his book.

it's pretty easy to make youself a blank book as a base - so you can have exactly the right number of pages and just the right size for him.

i wanna do this now

My mil made one for my two kids while she was on holiday. Starts with me and DH, then they had a baby boy, then a baby girl, blah blah. She's just hand-written it and done stick figure type drawings, but he kids love it.
(Not meaning to talk it down, she spent a lot of time and effort on it, just meaning it doesn't have to be fancy with lots of photos and stuff, can just be very simple).

WE have a scrapbook like this. We laso put pictures of things he sees around and about- favourite ornaments in a shop window, the postbox etc. etc. We use it to make up stories and we draw in it, too.
