i CAN'T make the repeat add up to 9

what am i doing wrong??/

is it a particular row?

yeah the FIRST row!

ssk = 2 stitches
then 2 yo = 1
then k2tog twice = 4
then k3 = 3
then yo = 1

that's 11, not 9!

or are you not supposed to knit the stitch after the yo's (just wind the yarn and go to the next stitch)?

SSK - 2sts
2yo - 0 sts
K2tog - 2sts
K2tog - 2sts
K3 - 3sts
yo - 0sts,you don't knit the next st as you go straight back into SSK.

thanks. the only context i have encountered yo before is increasing so that's what i was doing.

NOW i just need to find some yarn...
