Knitting Machine - knitting not 'catching'

MrsKJones · 06/01/2025 10:37

I got a knitting machine for Xmas. I tried using it, read all the instructions, watched some YouTube vids and I cannot see what I am doing wrong. The machine is turning and all the 'needles' are going up and down but the result is not 'catching' and I am just ending up with loose knitting.

What am I doing wrong?

You could either be using the wrong weight yarn, ie too thick or too thin, or your tension isn't quite right. What machine is it? What yarn are you using?

Is it a circular machine like the Addi Express? I have that one and it prefers thicker yarn. It's sitting unused in a box because I couldn't master getting an even tension at all.

If it’s an addi join the Facebook group as there’s loads of great advice

Its from Amazon - can't recall name right now but I am using the wool it came with as a starter.

Thanks for the tip about FB, I will check it out
