DD has to make a model zoo!! Help!!

Am not very arty and crafty at all and DD has to make a model zoo. Can anyone give me some ideas on where to start? We have been collecting some small boxes and cardboard tubes etc.

wow that's a project and a half
you can make gates and bars out of lollipop sticks (you can buy them in bags)
cut the sides off every box and stick the gates / bars across the opening

you can use green tissue paper for bushes
silver foil for streams and ponds

cut a side off every box

can you do the thing where you roll up paper.. cut half way down all around.. and pull it out to make a palm tree effect?

real twigs for trees for monkeys
penguin pool with a swirly walkway like in the london zoo

and I was so proud of my ideas . .oh well..

I got a great book in Spain with all sorts of animals made out of boxes and cardboard. I've scanned some and put them on my profile
They are basic but have a charm. They are also very easy to make.
