Is you like cross stitch, what else do you like?

I love cross stitching, and regularly do it in the evenings which I find relaxing and enjoyable.
Any cross stitchers out there enjoy other crafts? I've tried diamond dots before and found my neck was always craned over so gave up!
Any other ideas?

Have you tried blackwork? I love that, there are kits on Amazon.
I also crochet, latch hook.

I like knitting complicated lace/cable/textured patterns but have no patience for sewing pieces together to make jumpers or clothing. Socks are quite good to knit IMO.

I applaud all of you that do Black work..
It's very striking but so hard on the eyes

Have you tried diamond painting?

It's kind of a cross between cross stitch and painting by numbers, involving tiny beads.

Adult colouring books?

I love cross stitch and have recently started embroidery with a cheap and simple kit from Amazon. I also knit but can't crochet!

Sashiko is easy to pick up.

DrZaraCarmichael · 26/11/2024 14:21

Have you tried the pre-printed cross stitch kits?

sarahso · 26/11/2024 14:41

I used to knit a little bit but found it pretty hard so probably won't continue with that.
I might try embroidery though.

Anything else?

Knitting and crochet for me. I think crochet is easier than knitting. I generally like crafts that I can do in front of the telly. I wouldn’t have said that blackwork was any harder on your eyes than cross stitch. It’s trickier to see the pattern at first but once you remember it, you only need to glance at the end of the section. Looks absolutely stunning too. There’s some patterns on the Steady Thread and Peppermint Purple.
