Can anyone recommend a website for cross stitch kits please?

DD has taken an interest in cross stitching and I would like to get her a couple of kits for Christmas.

It's been a long time since I did cross stitch but when I was into it I always used Sew & So but it appears to have closed down.

She would probably be looking for some character ones, Disney etc.

Thanks in advance

I too haven't done it in 20+yrs so can only think of hobby craft, amazon, ebay?

Hope and Hart! They're amazing kits, everything you need and a small business. Would recommend, I've done several and they're all incredible, great instructions and look so good.

Black Sheep Wools
Lakeland needlecraft
Lovecrafts
they all stock far bigger ranges than Hobbycraft.
I would also recommend you buy a hoop and a good light.

There's a great little company I buy from based in Cornwall
https://www.emmalouiseartstitch.co.uk

Lots of great coastal pictures and some great bookmarks too.
She does some nice gift sets of kits and accessories too.

I like The World in Stitches, they've got some beautiful designs. All really colourful and quite simple. I adore the rainbow heart with squares!

I've just done a Clara & co kit

I use bothy threads, I don’t know if they’re the sort of things you’re looking for.

i have got some from Amazon for my my DD you need to be careful as you get a lot of rip off ones on there.

hobbycraft aren’t bad or John Lewis

Was just going to say this! They do kits for kids too (don't know how old OP's DD is).

The works, the range, Boyes and sometimes home bargains have reasonably priced kits in.

I have a lot of friends at my craft club who say the temu and shein kits are great and cheap (I don't trust that website to be honest but people at craft club really rate their craft supplies so I'm mentioning it)

Hobby craft, Amazon and often vinted has unopened craft supplies too.

Thank you so much everyone, I will take a look through them all.

DD is 11.

Really gutted about Sew & So though, even though I haven't stitched for a good few years I fondly remember scrolling their website.

Paraffle do beautiful modern kits, and there's lots of support on their FB page:

Is this the same Clothkits company that was around online the 70s?
They sold slightly hippy designs where patterns for clothes were printed directly onto the cloth.

Bluespirit17 · 23/11/2024 08:38

Sew & So was taken over (in part) by LoveCrafts.com. It's not the same though sadly

FeltCarrot · 23/11/2024 08:40

Cotton Clara do some lovely kits.
