Baby knitting pattern - can you identify it please?

Please can anyone identify this knitting pattern?
It's for a small baby and fits my 5lb new grandson perfectly.
I bought the original hand knitted jacket at a car boot and have been unsuccessful in identifying the pattern.
Google image search shows someone on Etsy who sells the finished jackets but I want to knit my own.
Any help greatly appreciated!

Have you looked for similar on Ravelry?

tribpot · 02/10/2024 17:43

It looks similar to the Gramps pattern from Tincanknits. If you're looking for a similar pattern rather than the identical one, I can recommend Tincanknits as their patterns are excellent, you can buy the pattern through Ravelry.

Here is another similar one, available for free on ravelry www.ravelry.com/patterns/library/baby-sophisticate-2

Also adorable but her smallest size is 3 months, is Elevenses from Lisa Chemery.

@ruby1234 this is for 2-13 yr old but you could adapt it?

This one's similar - you don't have to do the texture.

The nearest I can find is King Cole 3513 which has the shawl collar, pockets, 2x2 rib, and comes in preemie sizes. It's patterned but you could knit it plain.

Has anyone else now got the urge to knit a tiny baby cardigan?

Edited to add that it doesn't have raglan sleeves, sorry.

3513 Jacket, Hat & Blanket pattern by King Cole Ltd

This pattern has instructions for a baby’s cardigan/jacket, hat and blanket. Depending on size, it may fit a premature baby.

Thanks everyone!
The Etsy pattern looks the nearest so I'll try that.

Tiny grandson is swamped in most things but this cardi fits perfectly so I'll keep looking for the pattern.

I haven't had any luck finding that pattern so far but can recommend the premature baby patterns from this website. The sizing is very good and most patterns have the added advantage of not needing too much sewing up.

By the time you find it he'll have put on lots of weight hopefully! 🙂

I found it but it is not available as a pattern. It looks like it’s a pattern belonging to the crafter who makes the cardis. You can find it on Etsy below.

Having had a teeny tiny baby try Sirdars Early Babies premature pattern books 1, 2 & 3 as these fit from 2 1/2lb 10inch chests to newborns. Any pattern that is for a 12” chest should fit a 3 to 5lb baby, 14” fits 5-7 1/2lb. Hope that helps.

Hi
Yes, that's the Esty finished one I found too.
I'll have a look at the Sirdar booklets - thanks for the info.
