My first attempt with DPN..and felting!!!

I have decided after many moons of left handed knitting to give DPNs a go. I have chosen a project, sorted the wool and put the kettle on. Any advice before I just dive in please?

When you join the round try and make sure that it's not twisted ie; that all of the cast on stitches are the same way and I pull the first stitch on each needle tightly, so that you don't get a line of loose stitches iyswim. And try not to poke yourself in the eye, have done that on more than one occasion.
What are you knitting? Am curious.
