Cheetah costume needed by Saturday - help!

Not sure if this counts as arts and crafts, but I definitely need some creative ideas!

Have just remembered that DD1 (age 5) is going to a birthday party on Saturday. It is a "wild cats" theme - come dressed as your favourite big cat

Was hoping to persuade her to wear her brown top and trousers and just paint her face. But she is determined to be a cheetah.

We have a yellow T-shirt but nothing for the bottom half. And a quick web search suggests that there are no yellow tights or leggings in stock, anywhere that I can think of.

How hard would it be to dye some white leggings? And where do you get dye, anyway?
Or would it be easier to get yellow and brown fabric paint and let her loose on a white top and leggings? Have never done fabric painting. I'm sure she'd love it - but will I regret it (bearing in mind she has a 2.5 yo sister who will also want to get in on the act).

Or does anyone have any other bright ideas how to create some sort of cheetah impression?!

Yes!! She will definitely go for something that is actually furry! And much easier than painting/dying. Looks like we're going to a fabric shop tomorrow.

Huge thanks.

Maybe tights with the pattern drawn on for arms and legs?

If you are really stuck, if this link works it is a leopard skin pattern you could print out (would use lots of ink though!) and somehow use for a costume. I am sure I have seen wrapping paper in jungle prints somewhere - maybe paperchase?

Also maybe be worth looking in Claires Accesories which sometimes has odd bits and pieces (got great bunny ears there recently!)

Good luck.

Aha - I've found some long-forgotten beige leggings in her wardrobe. And she has found a plain plastic alice band I can adapt for ears. We are on a roll.

Thanks for the cheetah print paper - would never have thought of looking for that!
