Pyrography (wood burning) - anyone do this?

If so can you recommend any particular equipment, courses, beginner books and have any tips?

I’ve made two items on holiday and enjoyed it and fancy giving it a go. The instructor said to buy the best equipment you can afford but places like Amazon just have so many.

I do. I have a Peter Child machine. I would say you’re best off to get a machine with variable heat and changeable tips. I bought mine from Turner’s Retreat.
