Learning How To Knit

Do you have any suggestions on the best way to learn how to knit.

I am desperate to learn, my mum did try and teach me when I was little but found it harder to teach me with being left handed.

Now I am mature in my years I want to learn again.

This site is fab - it's got videos showing you how to do all the different stitches so almost as good as somebody sitting with you to teach you! I learnt from these and found them great. HTH

Thank you very much DaisySteiner, I just had a quick look but DD has woken up now so I will take a good look later.
I could be knitting by the end of the week how exciting.

I'm left handed, and I've taught myself to knit using the Debbie Bliss Baby knits for beginners book, which is lovely, and adds in news concepts with each pattern, so you learn one thing at a time while still making lovely things.

My Mum struggled to help me too but I have found that knitting in the same way as everyone else is fine left handed as knitting doesn't invlove any fine finger movements or anything. I would try this rather than trying to reverse anything and complicating it further!
