Went to shop and bought lovely fabric ready to start my log cabin quilt, also bought a lovely nice (sharp) rotary cutter.

Hmm cutting first few pieces of fabric, put cutter down, caught my finger on the blade and omg cut over 1/2 cm deep into my finger

Blood everywhere!!! Quilt making is dangerous!!!

You're supposed to move your finger out of the way.
Seriously, is it ok?

It is now, wouldn't stop bleeding so went to visit a neighbour who's a nurse (was going to get DH to drive me to minor injuries but he'd been drinking ) She dressed it for me and its ok but omg it bled on and off for a couple of days!!

I have learnt my lesson now but seriously I had NO idea they were so sharp!

this is why i cross stitch although i did manage to stitch my finger to the piece i was backstitching once..... don't ask me how i didn't notice, i must have been in the "zone"[grin}

lol silly me of course fabric MUCH more imporant!! Saying that if I had bled on it I would have been livid - took me ages to choose and be happy with the colour combinations!!!

Mind you haven't gone back to it since, am scared now

Trust me, you won't do it again. Nothing like bleeding all over the place to make you extra careful.
I would like to see photos when you've finished though (and not just of your finger)
