Do crotchet patterns for boys exist?

Hi all.

Ive just taught myself to crotchet from a pattern [so proud] and I absolutely love it.

My problem is that all the patterns I have are for girls, all very pretty and lacey, but I have 3 boys, and I would love to try to knock something up create something wonderful for the younger two to wear.

Does anybody know where I can find anything suitable?

Thanks.

Hello fellow crochet geek afficionado -

I like crochetpatterncentral.com for lots of free patterns, they have a kids section here which has some ideas - if the clothes are too frilly, there's always toys/socks!

Good luck!

I have found a boys pattern, I think it was on lion brand, but do you think I can find it to do a link to show you?

I was thinking a sloppy joe number, limited shaping etc, but quite quick to make.

I'm just finishing my 1st project which is a lovely little jacket and hat but its for a baby girl, I'd love to have boys patterns to add to my stash.

I like the stipy jumper here - agree that the smaller projects that "grow" quickly are the most fun!

Post a pic of your project on your profile for us to have a nosy!

I found it, in Knitting Daily, hope the link works.

"turtle neck www.knittingdaily.com/freepatterns/crotchet/crotchet_turtle_sweater_286-1.html"

What do you think?

Okay, link doesnt work bum oh dear!!

Will try again, but I like that stripey sweater, I also like that site very much, so many lovely patterns!!

There is a pattern [1st pattern, 1st page on baby] which is exactly what I'm thinking of.

I cant get the link to work for some reason, but I think Ive changed my mind anyway, I'm going to try one from your site!

It will probably take me 6 months though!

I have got a profile, not public at the moment, will change it now. I have pics of ds2's birthday cake on it, I am so proud of it.

Nobody was allowed to cut it!!

It will take me another couple of days to finish off my cardi [sewing in thousands of ends, finding the right buttons etc] but once its finished I will put some pics on.

link?

Looks good! It would definitely take me 6 months! I started granny squares last year and still only have about 7!

Legoleia · 30/03/2008 21:43

Cool, will be nosy take a look at your cake later!

tee4two · 30/03/2008 22:00

That's the one.

I still cant get the link to work.
I'll give it up as a bad job
