Knitting a cushion cover - long needles or circular?

I am about to knit a v. simple cushion cover using aran wool. It is going to end up about 40 cm wide and 80 cm long (so it can be sewn up). Is it going to be very heavy? If so will I need long needles or will I be better off with circular?

So far I have only knitted small things like mittens and little pink bags for my dd's.

Do you knit German-style? Or English? (Do you hold the yarn on your right or your left?)

Circulars are better for German-style knitting, but long needles are better for English ...

Thanks, I knit with the yarn on my right - so that must be English style.
I will be going out to get the needles(and yarn) this afternoon. I just hope the shop has the colour I'm after.

Circulars may still be the better option, the needles will have to be quite long.
