Easy crochet project ideas please!

Please can someone suggest an easy but useful crochet project for me? I’ve done a scarf and a basic hat. I tried a cardigan but it was too big and complicated and I gave up :(
I want something I can do in front of the tv in the evening; I know the basic stitches and can work out others with YouTube but want something that doesn’t require constant looking down. And something I can either use or give to someone.

Can you do granny squares ? They are easy once you get the hang of them. Then you can make them into all sorts of things. Lots of lovely things on Pinterest.

I've made loads of these for friends' new babies. Have attached the pattern I use.
Worth checking with your local neonatal unit if they're taking anything, hats, blankets, octopus..

I make blankets- I just go round and round in a square getting bigger and bigger and changing the colours of the wool.

Which way filet blanket, looks lovely and not hard at all. See YouTube video by Fiber Spider. Or make a scarf with some lovey gradient yarn in my favourite stitch, drunken granny stitch. Again videos on YouTube.

Check with your local Maternity Unit. Ours often puts requests out for hats and blankets.

I'm desperate to become skilled at amigumuri. So far I've made two tiny octopus, one of them questionable
I've bought 600 safety eyes tho so I'm optimistic

A bag could be an option. I’m a complete novice and have cocked up the pattern I’ve got a number of times but someone with an ounce of experience could work it up in no time.
