Crochet advice, please: should I change direction?

I've crocheted a blanket. I followed a pattern for the motifs, but created my own border. The motifs were all made in the same direction, so I made the border all in the same direction, too. The last two rows of the border are dc, and it's rolling in. I have a suspicion I may have picked up a 3.5 hook instead of the 4 hook on that last row, so I'm going to rip back the last row and redo it with a 4 hook, but I wonder whether I should do that last row in the opposite direction.

I've never edged a blanket in dc before, so I don't know how it behaves.

BTW dc = double crochet UK terminology.
