I have made a basic patchwork quilt from a charm pack and it was great fun and the result was good. I'm interested in progressing to a 'confident beginner' level quilt pattern. Does anyone know the kinds of terms to look out for?
Also, and this might be too much to ask but I'd like to make it for my 19yo son who has... quite particular taste. He'd prefer something in greys, a pop of colour might be okay but not a colourful quilt. I can imagine a few themes being okay - like computing/programming, mountains, racquet sports, chess, Canada. He likes a sort of 'hunting lodge fantasy' (?) aesthetic - like ornate metalwork, stags, leather. I'm rambling now. Basically I really want to make something he'll actually like but I don't know how to get there from here. Any help at all would be so appreciated but obviously this is quite tricky!
