how hard can it be for a complete butter-fingered novice to make a simple fleece sleeping bag

DS1 (age 5) loves climbing into things - mainly the cushion covers on the sofa.
It's driving me mad, but important for him (has asperger syndrome).
So I thought I could get him a snuggle sac to have on the sofa to climb in.
But they are (a) expensive and (b) I don't like the designs.
So how hard can it be to get some funky fleece fabric (can I get it mail order) and stitch it together?
does fleece need hemming?
would I need to borrow a sewing machine?

just make it like a pillow case. You can turn a pillow case inside out and study its construction.

Fleece is very cheap on local markets or at Dunelm. I won't fray along its edges.

If you can borrow machine it will have stronger seams, freecycle????

Marvin, aspergers is something close to my heart (both in mine and DPs family)so I'd be happy to make your DS a snuggle sac at cost price (ie you pay for fabric and postage).
Email me at [email protected] and we can have a chat

Marvin, did you manage to sort something out? If not, my offer still stands
