Beginner’s air dry clay as a hobby

My friend is interested in air dry clay as a hobby. She’s done a few nice bits, got a basic set of tools etc.

she’s got a birthday coming up and I wondered about getting her something for this new hobby, has anyone got any good pointers on anything that’s a bit of a game changer with this hobby or something that maybe is really useful but you’d not necessarily buy yourself. Thanks.

What a lovely idea for a present. I don’t have any suggestions really, but there’s a YouTube channel called red rocking bird that does air dry clay projects. You might get some ideas from there.

Is there a budget to stick to?
I dabble with clay and the best item I purchased to progress with modelling was a steel cake turntable, saves the constant twisting around the board that the clay is on.

Plastic turntable would suffice also and are around half the price, I just preferred a heavier base for larger sculpting.
