Dressing Up Costume Ideas Needed Please!

Not sure if this is the right place but basically DD's school are having an 'up in the air' day next Thursday and the children are being asked to dress up in something that goes up in the air. I am rubbish when it comes to sewing and this will be the very first costume I will have to make (doubt it will be the last, judging by recent posts on here... Book day anyone?!) so I am hoping for something relatively straightforward, that doesn't cost the earth and won't take me years to make.

Any ideas gratefully received! TIA

bird? dress in say black leotard or shorts and tshirt (or any feasible colour fo a bird that you have the clothes in) add a card tail attached to a belt, a card beak attached to a headband, and yellow or orange tights.

Thanks for those ideas! I did contemplate the idea of cutting two balloon shapes out of carsboard boxes and making an over the head hot air balloon type thing for her to wear. Thought she could decorate it herself so she would be more inclined to wear it. I reckon I would be a bit peeved if I went to loads of trouble and she refused on the day .

Also like the bird idea. Where would I get a cheap leotard from?
