What do you do when you start a project but lose joy for it?

I have started a massive blanket but just don't love it . I'm only about 20 rows in (of 200+ stitches) and it's a slog

Actually, as I type I've decided - I'll give it away to someone who'd like it as an ongoing project!

If you don't like it I would just stop and do something you love Xx

@WingingItSince1973 you're right, thank you. Life's too short to work on projects I don't love!

End up with a UFO (unfinished object).

Still, they may come in useful one day. I can’t for the life of me remember why I never finished a cardigan for dd2 (then maybe 7, it was in pastel multicoloured yarn) but decades later I used a lot of that yarn to make baby doll clothes and a dolls’ pram blanket for Gdd1.

The long black cardi I was making for a Dsis, though, did end up in the bin. The very long pick-up-and-knit band that went all round the front, eventually defeated me - I just couldn’t see the wretched black stitches clearly enough.
Just as well it was relatively cheap acrylic yarn!

Unpick it and start something else with it !
Loads of patterns on love crafts.com
I hear you tho - I'm on the third pattern now for some relatively expensive wool I bought and I'm not overly sure whether I really like this one. Urgh
Also if it's a blanket it might be thick wool so try Lauren Aston Designs for patterns on there too.
Good luck !

Yes it's like starting a book and still not into it by p100. It's not a slow burner, it's just not right for you.
