Tunisian raglan yoke - help!

I’m making a raglan cardigan which uses several different Tunisian crochet stitches. However the pattern feels wrong - one end of the yoke is shorter than the other. Although this is my first time making a raglan yoke I feel they should be even.

The raglan increase (RI) is 4 stitches into 2. From the underlined bits on the pattern below it seems that you do 4 stitches then put a place marker (PM) and for the other end put the marker then 8 stitches.

The next row you do the RIs after the markers, so the first and last corners are at starting different points.

Is the pattern wrong and the first place marker should be after the first RI?

I don’t know anything about crochet, but know a bit about sewing. On all the raglan tops I’ve sewn, the sleeves are asymmetric- longer at the back than the front - so I’d expect the yoke to be asymmetric too.

(I’ve added a photo of what a raglan sleeve looks like on a sewing pattern, in case it helps. The longer bit goes at the back)

Interesting, I’ve not yet sewn a raglan sleeve so it didn’t occur to me about the shape! Thank you for replying.
