Your ‘best’ UFO (Unfinished Object)

Mine was a long black cardigan I was knitting for a DSis. I’d made the whole thing - except for the very long ‘pick up and knit’ band that went all the way round.
It was horrendous, just trying to see the black stitches, let alone pick up the right number.
I just ditched the whole thing - just as well it was relatively cheap acrylic yarn - couldn’t be pure wool, she’d never hand wash anything.

Touch wood, that was years ago now and I haven’t had a UFO since, but there were a couple of smaller ones before that.

Belated answer!

Mine's a sideways-knit jumper. Very complex cables, a double moss section you have to figure backwards for the shoulder reductions, and worst, it's in 5ply/sport weight on 3.25mm needles. Very slow going. I used Patons Bluebell and found it extremely hard on the hands - between that and the fine needles, not only was I getting RSI, but I had a swelling like a ganglion cyst develop on my knuckle, which nearly a year later still hasn't completely subsided. I only got about two-thirds of the front done in over a month. I can normally finish jumpers (DK and 4.5mm needles) in little more than that time.

It would have been a lovely jumper, but the pain of making it was too high a price to pay!

A basket stitch pattern cardi by paintbox yarns. All the pieces are knitted but it's been in the bag awaiting assembly for over a year!
