Looking for online shops, don't mind if not in UK (although figure from US you get hit heavily with tax?)

Thank you!

In US reprodepot, supperbuzzy. Don't know many UK sites.

The range of fabrics in my local John Lewis and local fabric shop is really disappointing. I think I am going to go on a day trip to Liberty's.

Buttonberry

or

Here perhaps

If you are anywhere near Launceston in Cornwall, try Cowslip. They have an amazing choice.

Hope this helps.

Hi Wangle - I've just looked at your profile and see that you are indeed in Cornwall - C'wall is a big place but Cowslip runs workshops, hosts exhibitions and has a fantastic little cafe with amazing views.

It's more than a cafe, they do fabulous cake and really nice meals including Sunday Roast.

You wouldn't know the whole place was there as it's down a farm track but it is soooooo worth a visit.

My parents live 5 minutes away so I always go and stock upi when I'm there.

Have a peruse through my blog and you'll see some of the fabric I've used from Cowslip - recently the purple and lilac freckles bunny.

They sell gifts, pottery, ceramics, bags, soft furnishings too. I feel like I'm about 5 walking into a sweety shop when I go there.

Are you close to Launceston ? It's just on the outskirts going toward Egloskerry, just past the Golf course

Have you tried ebay? There is a lot of different types on there.

Do you have a particular purpose in mind as I know a couple of patchwork fabric websites that are good.

nappymadmummy · 09/03/2008 17:42

ebay, the remnant haouse, croft mill (no fabric online here but you can ask to be put on their mailing list - the brochure is quite fun to read through).

Thanks everyone!

Tillyboo - don't live anywhere near Launceston (about 50 miles away according to DH!) but would be willing to travel, sounds like a nice place that DD would like to come with me so perhaps we'll tack a visit in Easter hols

Niecie - I have had a peek on ebay but not to actually buy yet. I'm into dressmaking at the moment :O) Am waiting for Christmas fabrics to come in stock!!!

NMM - thank you for the links will check them out.

Tillyboo · 10/03/2008 21:20

Fubsy, here's the link to Cowslip. It's a fab place . It's well worth a visit.

I must go and have a look. I saw the link on your blog, but thought it was an online shop. It looks good!

bran · 16/03/2008 13:01

Have you looked at Hancock's? They are in the US so you will have to allow for duty to be paid if the value of the order is over a certain amount (£18 I think), but their prices are still very good. They have a vast range so I find them useful for topping up the fabric that I buy in the UK.

kiskideesameanoldmother · 16/03/2008 13:14

really like the prices and selection in this shop but it is in the Netherlands.

bran · 16/03/2008 13:57

The Netherlands isn't a problem, you don't pay duty on things that you buy within the EU. I'm off to have a thorough browse, thanks kiskidee.

i've ordered a few times from www.fabricuk.com
they're very helpful and have always delivered exactly what i ordered the next day
customer service fantastic... they noticed i'd ordered samples of a fabric i then went onto order 14 metres. they rang me to warn me that the fabric i'd receive was from a different roll to the samples and that it was a slightly different shade
I couldn't tell the difference but they were worried in case i'd already ordered from the old roll
