Can anyone educate me on the Cricut?

I'm finding myself purchasing alot of personalised labels lately to add to my crafts to gift (not sell). So much so I am wondering if its worth me getting one myself?

It would be for personal use, small projects like personalising bottles, lunchbags, mugs, cups etc. I wouldnt be making a business out of it. Which machine would you recommend? Are they easy to use and set up? Are there much setting up costs or any subscription? Other than the vinyl what else do you need to buy

Any advice or recommendations will be hugely appreciated.

Many thanks

I love my Cricut! It’s pretty user friendly IMO and if you can’t figure something out there’s a lot of help online and some really great FB groups to ask. I have the Maker, but it sounds like you’d probably be an ideal candidate for the latest machine (only out a week or so) - the Joy Xtra. It’s a bit smaller but does what you’d need. You don’t need a subscription to use it, although one is available if you want access to lots of images and projects via Cricut. Enjoy!

@PerpetuallyIndecisive thank you for responding and letting me know there is a new machine coming out. I will defo take a look.

Please can you tell me what sort of costs I need to factor in to get set up? Once I've purchased the machine. Vinyl aside do I need mats, blades, tools etc?

I really want one BUT I really need to consider the costs as it is just a hobby and enabling me to make gifts. I won't be making money from it

It should come with what you need to get started, possibly with the exception of the vinyl - when I bought my Air 2, the company (https://www.gmcrafts.co.uk/ - very helpful when I had a problem with the first machine they sent) sent 2 boxes of sample sheets which was enough to play with.
