Digger Story Sack HELP!

shoofly · 05/03/2008 20:53

Ok I started to make a story sack for my 2 year old - the sack looks great and I've got an Usborne digger book and Dig dig Digging (Margaret Mayo). Have also got a playmobil digger and driver, problem is I'm now stuck with what else to put in it. I wanted to make a pairs type game - I thought I'd be able to get images from somewhere and colour/ laminate them but I'm not having any luck - Any ideas where to get them and what else should I put in the bag? - V tired and my brain seems to have shut down - please help!

Are you against the use of Bob the Builder?

I would borrow some images off cbeebies or bobthebuilder.com as there are loads of different types of diggers, trucks etc

Or just use it for ideas of building related images, like....hard hats, tape measures, hammers, bricks, cement mixers etc

we used this lot for my digger-addicts

how about getting some items of clothing that go in pairs, like a pair of boots ( his wellies or lace-up's) pair of gloves, maybe a hard hat or two? now i've planted half an idea i'll run....BTW Aldi do v.cheap hi-viz vests. could use all the above to kit him up as well as recognising where on your body you put them and so on, then on for a bit of role-play/pretending?

The Caterpillar website has good images of its range of machinery; try also JCB or Komatsu

2 is definitely not too young to learn that all machines are not "diggers". I was in the construction industry BC and my boys have been really keen to learn about the different machines.

You could also get pictures of - concrete mixers, tractors, crawlers /cranes

concrete mixer wagon

crane
