Knitting again

Used to knit many years ago, liked the circular needle doing the Icelandic jersey and other things

Want to take it up again, have no needles or patterns

What would be a good thing for starting with which could be useful and get me started

The Barley hat by Tin Can Knits is a very simple hat kitted in the round in Aran weight yarn. I'm sure as soon as you start again you'll remember everything. Try your local charity shop for needles - you might need to ask as they are sometimes kept under the counter. If you do buy needles then I can recommend interchangeables like the Knitpro set - I use them for straight knitting as well as in the round.

Join Ravelry (its free), then you can use the search feature to look up patterns by type, yarn weight, difficulty and price. Since winter is coming, I'd look at cowls.
