My DD is leaving pre-school on thursday (very upsetting - but thats another thread) and I have five teachers/assistants to buy for. I have bought them a small 'Angels' diary, which I think is very cute and the predictable box of chocolates but would like to perhaps add something to the diary to make it a little more personal - perhaps a little message from my DD. However there is no room to write in the front of the diary without defacing the entire pciture that is shown in there. I would really really appreciate ideas.
HELP!!!!!!!

could you make some little bookmarks with DD to put in the diaries?

That is was what I was thinking spacemonkey, but not being very arty or crafty myself - do not know where to start other than cutting a piece of card to fit the diary, but thats where it ends. do you know if and where I could buy them and then add the message?

When my DD's nursery closed a few years ago we had all the children's handprints done and prsented them in a folder. Her teacher said it was the nicest gift she had and that it would always remind her of the hands she'd held. Maybe you could do a variation on this? To make it fit you could reduce it on a copier.

Thanks yoyo. Thats a great idea - now like I have already stated I am not at all creative so excuse me if I am sounding a bit dim. Once my DD has done the print and it has dried (I assume it would be better to paint her hand and not draw around it - apologies if that sounds really stupid) - I just photo-copy it to smaller size and cut it out and write on the back - does that sound like it might work?

Just seen this Supersonic and yes that should work a treat. Use dark paint for best effect but not too much (otherwise it goes blobby). Just reduce as required on copier (probably wouldn't need too much reduction for a pre-schooler's hand). I wouldn't bother cutting it out either because it should look great as it is.
