This looks great in a single colour but what about stripes?

I have some yarn in six different colours that I want to use up.
Rust
Mustard
Darkish honey
Teal
Olive
Light turquoise

I think that would look lovely. I want to make one now!

I love it, DD has had me make her a poncho every year since she was 2 but declares herself too old but this might be perfect shes often found with a blanket draped over her in a similar way.

Some things to think about...
Would you go one colour per thick strip? Thin stripes within each thick stripe?
Would you alternate colours from one end to the other or calculate so the two central stripes are the same color and match stripes back to the wrist?
