As I embark on my 5th pair of Megan Nielsen Flint trousers (while wearing my third) I wondered if anyone else has a pattern they love so much they make multiples of it and wear them all the time?

The Lisette Traveler shirt dress is pretty cool too- I have done a couple of those.

I’ve a few. True Bias - Ogden cami, love notions - rhapsody blouse, Sinclair - Poppy pants.

All fairly basic wardrobe fillers but I’ve made each several times

CaptainMyCaptain · 20/07/2023 15:44

I have used the SewLiberated patterns Hinterland dress at least half a dozen times with variations. It is a very comfortable every day non-dressy dress.

I also have a few pairs of Tilly snd the Buttons Marigold trousers. Not the jumpsuit version.

kshaw · 20/07/2023 16:01

Cashmerette roseclair and Upton dresses, and the vest from the book I can't remember the name of!

kshaw · 20/07/2023 16:02

Think I have 6x roseclair, 4x vests and currently making second Upton. I love not having to do a FBA!

Drews · 20/07/2023 20:34

@TheCountessofFitzdotterel I like the look of those Flint trousers. do you think they can be lengthened to the floor too?

pastabest · 20/07/2023 20:38

I love both the paper theory zadie jumpsuit and the deer and doe sirocco jumpsuit and have made a number of both.

also like the TATB Rosa - dress version.

Heyday- Waves & Wild. I've made this pattern in an old duvet cover, light denim and needle cord. And I'll definitely use it again.

Thanks for the thread- I've added some patterns to my list!

Yes, the first pair I did are floor length. I also have one cropped pair and two a generous ankle length which are the ones I wear most.
It’s really fun seeing what different effects you get with different fabrics. My longest are in quite a lightweight black linen which is quite drapey and the pairs I wear all the time are a more medium weight linen which has a nice swing to it.

It’s really interesting looking at everyone else’s favourite patterns! Apologies for not replying, it’s because I have been busy investigating them all.

what a great thread, I’m off to look up all these patterns. I love Closet Core patterns, I’ve made 4 Kalle short dresses, two Pietro shorts and one wide leg trouser, and 3 Carlie Caftans. The Sew Different tulip dress is also a favourite of mine.

Tattyhabits · 20/07/2023 21:50

I love threads like these! My faves are from Tessuti patterns. I've made 2 Miranda dresses, both in linen, and so far only one Colette, but I really love wearing it and will definitely make more. Whilst wearing my first Miranda I was complimented on it by a complete stranger who then asked me where I'd bought it from!

AnonyMousely · 20/07/2023 23:09

The Fibre Mood Kaya dress. I have 4 and 2 top versions, and I’ve hacked I t to have a button placket.

Sewingdufus · 21/07/2023 19:52

Ooh, can I join?!

Helen’s Closet York Pinafore.
Waves & Wild - Cuppa Tee, Beachcomber and Hot Coffee
Staystitch Solene Shorts and Culottes.
Rebecca Page’s Olivia Top.

Might need to name change now as this is totally identifying!

SBAM · 22/07/2023 13:36

I seem to be mostly sewing for babies/children recently so my most frequent makes are:
Waves and Wild Lightning Leggings
Threads by Caroline Ester & Ebbe Tee
Misusu Olli shorts
Misusu Rowan Tee
Bobbinhood Crew neck raglan top
Twig and Tale Petal tunic/dress.
(& these are all free patterns!).

For me I like the Waves and Wild Hot Coffee, Deer and Doe Plantain top, the Helen’s Closet York pinafore. I’ve just made the Atelier Scammit Declic top and I can see this becoming a repeat make.

TheCountessofFitzdotterel · 23/07/2023 20:38

My mind is a bit blown by how many indie pattern designers there are that I hadn’t heard of.

I'm planning to make the Tulip dress for autumn in a linen mix and for winter in needlecord @Greaterthanthesumoftheparts. Any handy hints that I need to know?

I've only started sewing clothing recently and so far my only duplicate is Fibre Mood Gabby twice. Both version are very different from each other, but I like them both. I especially love the sleeves which is a very clever construction and much more comfortable to wear than elasticated sleeves.

Greaterthanthesumoftheparts · 23/07/2023 21:49

@BlackAmericanoNoSugar if you’re planning on doing French seams I’d drop the pockets, I ended up with puckering. Also, I’m apple shape and while the tulip dress is nice and roomy around the belly it does have a tendency to make me look a bit pregnant 🤰
otherwise it’s a pretty straight forward make and super comfy to wear. I wear mine to worn and always get complements on it.

Greaterthanthesumoftheparts · 23/07/2023 21:55

And @BlackAmericanoNoSugar i know you didn’t ask but I made my second tulip dress I this beautiful cotton lawn from Lady McElroy.

the first I made in gingham which made it tricky matching the front seam.

Do you have a favourite sewing pattern?
ThePersistenceOfMammories · 23/07/2023 21:58

The Ellie and Mac dashing dress at the moment. Was the batwing tunic dress before.

ApolloandDaphne · 23/07/2023 21:58

I really need to make more clothes as i am a ridiculous apple shape. I plan to look up all these patterns.

AnnieSnap · 23/07/2023 22:17

I made two (one maxi, one knee length) of the TATBs Skye Sundress last summer. I would have made another by now if the weather was better. I really love the Tessuti patterns for boiled wool jackets. I have made the Berlin, the Verona and I will make the Lyon for the coming Autumn. A new pattern that I have only owned two weeks and already made two of, with more planned, is the Matchy Matchy Peplum Split Tank. It’s a gorgeous top for hot days 🙂

BlackAmericanoNoSugar · 23/07/2023 23:01

Thanks @Greaterthanthesumoftheparts That Lady McElroy fabric is lovely, I wish I could wear those sophisticated cool colours but they make me look ill. I need warm colours.

supadupapupascupa · 23/07/2023 23:06

Cashmerette Upton for me too!

kittykarate · 24/07/2023 08:09

My favourite patterns that have turned out perfect wearable every time are probably the Made by Rae Rosa trousers and the Jalie 2910 mock wrap tshirt.

That mock wrap t shirt looks lovely.
Do you think it would work for medium to large boobage? The models seem to be fairly flat chested.

Am loving the look of Fibre Mood Gabby but would you need to be tall and willowy?
