Knitting for charity

I've got loads of odd balls of wool and I'm thinking of using them up by knitting for charity. Any patterns online that I could use and send the knitting to-the charity?

Also, a friend who was recently bereaved very much appreciated the knitted heart that a lot of hospitals seem to use now, though they do need to be red or pink.
