Stuffed toy pattern - for a quick make!

My nephew is going to be 1 on Wednesday and while my sister has suggested I give him some sort of teddy of his own (as most of his are shared with older brother), her husband has said the house is coming down with stuffed toys & it would just be wasteful to get more. So of course I piped up well I made one would that be different? And here I am...

So now I have to find a quick and easy pattern to make a gorgeous present.

I have the link to the Cath Kidston dog toy which is quite sweet but I was thinking of something larger. I like these and I have made this in a sort of patchwork mixture of fabrics (not that furry stuff) and it was ok but a little wonky. So that gives you an idea of my taste and lowish skill level!

I'd love any suggestions - I'll also be working today and tomorrow so really I'm looking for something to complete in two evenings ... sorry for long post, thought all info up front best approach

the french ones are gorgeous. i am working my way through the 'happy hookers' book and there are some lovely crocheted toys in it.

can you knit?

if so-

2 nice patterns here

I absolutely love the knitted ones! impossible for me to get wool quickly though.

I also found this which I think could be pretty in a different fabric and maybe not with those scary eyes! I can't find what I'm really looking for which is a sort of jointed rag doll type animal with long dangly legs. Anway I haven't time to be too picky!

I'm in the middle of making the dog but I'm also working today. I don't think I'm going to get it done by Wednesday somehow! Spent bleddy ages looking for pattern.
