Where to buy crochet yarn

My daughter is going to crochet me a granny square blanket and I have to buy the wool. Aran. Where is the cheapest and decent quality place to buy online?

Wool Warehouse certainly are reliable and dispatch quickly.

I would go to your local Hobby Craft, John Lewis and Google local yarn shop. The range, B&M, Aldi and home bargains do wool if you want cheaper. If you go to an actual shop you’ll be able to see the colours properly, hold them next to each other to see what colour combinations work and also feel it to make sure it’s soft enough for you.

If it’s going to be used a lot, you probably want acrylic as it’s easy to wash. It’s usually cheaper too. If you don’t want synthetic fibres then you want wool (definitely need to touch it at this point) or cotton but these will be heavier and more expensive. A shop will also be able to advise you on how many balls you want. Any craft shop if you say you’re looking for aran weight yarn will be able to help you.

Stylecraft do an Aran and they are one of the nicest acrylic yarns, acrylic being cheaper than wool. Stylecraft I always buy from wool warehouse as it is one of the cheaper places and is reliable and swift wuth it's delivery, some others are less reliable.
However, Aran granny squares to me always look bulky. DK is much the best for granny squares.
