£25 for a dress

Thank goodness they're in the wrong sizes for DD!!

susiemj · 24/02/2008 15:59

I got that too - it took ages. If you scroll down, ~I think there might be a way to skip the intro. I didn't see it til too late so can't promise.

IMO it's nice but I'm a bit underwhelmed TBH.

Sheherazadethegoat · 24/02/2008 16:07

misdee · 24/02/2008 16:18

misdee · 24/02/2008 16:21

thank you DONTCALLMEBABY

am now in and browsing

DontCallMeBaby · 24/02/2008 16:25

Plus: it has a shopping chicken instead of a trolley or cart.
Minus: for that sort of money, I expect my clothes to come ready-constructed.

Oh, and I can't sew. I might have to point my mum at it (although I am little afraid she may dig up photos of me in vintage Clothkits!)

Mercy · 24/02/2008 16:28

I used to have a dress which had a big picture of a little girl on it - I wonder if it was a Clothkits one?

That green is doing my eyes in!

misdee · 24/02/2008 16:28

i like the girls dresses, but am unsure if my sewing skills are upto it.

It is a bit pricey - and fortunately I don't have a dd small enough, but cloth kitty was my fave doll as a little 'un, so I have to have one for my dd (well, for me really!). Every photo I have of me as a little girl is in clothkits, so it must have been quite reasonably priced as we were super poor (either that or my mum didn't feed us to satisfy her addiction )

Oh thankyou, thankyou, how exciting!

Haven't even checked it out yet!

There is a doll? At last I can have a clothkits doll!

MadamePlatypus · 24/02/2008 20:48

Hmm. A little expensive given that you have to sew them yourself. I know that clothes were more expensive in the seventies - my mum kept old 'Pollyanna" catalogues (anybody else have Pollyanna clothes?) and they probably had a similar demographic to Clothkits, except readymade. As far as I remember, trousers were about £8, and it wouldn't be hard to find trousers now for that price. Even readymade Boden dresses are cheaper than those clothkits dresses.

Still tempted though.

Gingermonkey · 24/02/2008 22:24

pollyanna - yep, I had those too

Hummm, is it just me or are the photos not great - & not photos of every colourway...

May still have to buy one (& matching set for dd's doll)

Wallace · 25/02/2008 20:19

A bit more expensive than I had hoped.

And only goes up to age 4-6 and dd is 7 this year (very tiny for her age, but still...)

Hopefully they get the boys' stuff out while ds2 is young enough!
