Im looking for modern rather than traditional patterns, but in 3 or 4ply and am struggling to find anything. Have tried Lovecrafts, Knitting Network, Sirdar etc.

Would prefer knitted (pretty proficient) but could manage simple crochet.

I can find lots of DK, which im happy to use for older ages but would prefer finer for newborn.

Does anyone have any ideas please?

Have you looked on Ravelry? If its not on there it probably doesn't exist!

Sorry I should have said Ravelry too. I'm on a hiding to nowhere I think...

My mum made a really lovely blanket for DD using variegated yarn and double moss stitch. But just checking that was the stitch, it looks really pretty in a simple, solid colour too.

I was hoping for newborn hats to start, and then hopefully I'll know whether im knitting for a boy or girl later on. That cardigan is lovely, and I'll keep the link, thank you.

I used to knit a lot but haven't for some years.. I feel I need to break myself in lol

Have you tried eBay for patterns? Sometimes people are destashing and put them on there. Good luck!

Is this any use? Has a few cute patterns in sizes up to 6-9mths

If you find a dk pattern you like , do it in a bigger size , smaller needles and 3 or 4 ply yarn
eg if the dk pattern 3 months casts on say 40 stitches with 4mm needles, do the 9 month size with 4 ply and 3..25 needles, casting on about 60
experiment with a test square though to get the size you want
