Crochet to take on holiday

This might sound ridiculous but I am going away in a few weeks time to somewhere in the UK.

In an evening I normally sit and crochet (to take my mind off the world). I'm currently working on a blanket but it's far too big to take with me. Does anyone have any ideas of small little crochet items I could make that doesn't require lots of colour changes / lots of balls of wool. I'm in need of inspiration as I've got no idea!

Preferably not a toy as I don't really want to take stuffing and eyes with me.

Thank you!

Just do squares that you can add together? Or hats?

How about making granny squares or similar and then when home can sew up? Or A Craft and a Cuppa granny hexagon cardigan is great! (YouTube free or pattern from website is paid I think)

I took a colour changing yarn cake and a shawl pattern with me on holiday last month 😊

I would do one of Johanna Lindahl's shawls using a Scheepjes Whirl. Perfect for taking away, and on the off-chance you get hot weather, the cotton content of the yarn makes it pleasing to work with!

That's what I do every year. It's perfect - small, portable and only two ends to darn in!

I make blankets but hate granny squares. Last year I made a blanket using the mile a minute technique. Essentially long strips which are crocheted together. I just did a couple of strips by the pool.
