Advice on lengthening this dress please

Hello,

Was wondering if anyone could advise me on if there is any way to lengthen this dress please?

I've thought about adding another tier to the bottom ruffles but I'd have no idea where to start - materials or patterns.

The bit above the ruffles sits just under my bum I'd like to add enough so it's a few inches above my knee.

If anyone has any ideas I'd really appreciate it.

That looks more like a top than a dress. I would add a pair of jeans

It's difficult to know as the photo only shows part of the dress? But you could find a matching top to attach it to, and cut the top part of the dress away. Or add a petticoat?

Failing trousers, I think I might add a straight jersey (ie. t shirt fabric) to the bottom of the 'dress' before the ruffle starts. You could buy a T shirt from charity, turn it upside down and cut a tube the length you want. Make sure you measure how wide the T shirt needs to be. I think it might look nice with a patterned T shirt which 'goes' with the grey but you could play it safe and do black. This way you get a big of length without the extra ruffle which I think may look weird in another fabric. Just my opinion.
