Aldi Tapestry canvas - help me identify it.

I made a couple of cushions using these starter kits from Aldi https://www.aldi.co.uk/needlework-tapestry-starter-kit/p/000000634435100

I loved doing it and would like to do more but I have no idea what to buy and the Aldi kits are no longer available. I ordered some zweigart 10 point stuff but it’s very stiff unlike the Aldi canvas. Can anyone help me identify what I need? There’s so much out there! Thanks.

That looks like Aida fabric. Do you have a real life craft or sewing shop near you? They will be able to identify it for you.

Only Hobbycraft, I’ve looked in the local one and they only had kits which I don’t need. I don’t have a sample of the actual fabric, only that picture.

I agree that it looks like Aida-also known as cross stitch fabric, rather than canvas (though I may be wrong, as it's hard to see the fine detail in the small pictures). True canvas doesn't have the many thin threads separated by occasional holes, but is single thick threads, with gaps between every cross-thread, like potato sacks.

My DD and I have ordered Aida from various places, including Amazon, Woolwarehouse and Love crafts. DD has also bought it from Hobbycraft. Aida is also less stiff than tapestry canvas, so that would fit your description.

Thank you both, the Zweigart stuff I bought online was almost plasticky so I’ll try Aida.
