Why don't you google for a knitted dishcloth pattern?

That style is easy to make in crochet and really difficult in knitting.

I'd look for a knitted dishcloth pattern.

You could always have a go at crocheting it. Loads of good tutorial videos on YouTube, the only thing to watch for is whether the pattern is written in US or UK terminology, and then make sure you look for videos for the right terminology.

If you can get the knack of crochet that’s a very easy thing to make. Beginner level once you’ve got the hang of how to make the stitches/chains.

Do love a bistitchual puzzle so had a little play and made a little swatch with DK cotton and 5mm needles. (larger needles than I'd use ordinarily hence the openness of the fabric)
Think it's somewhere (?) close to the original picture. An easy 2 row repeat.

Cast on any multiple of 3 stitches

After any border is worked...

Row1 Knit 3, yarn over, knit 2 together repeat in bold until last 2 stitches, knit 2.
Row 2 knit all stitches

Repeat these 2 rows until desired length.

Work any border wanted.

Cast off.
