Organising x-stitch threads

Hi all - how would manage your threads for a project when they've come packaged like this? (I put the elastic round one of them the other day.) It's basically all the threads for a project attached to card headers, but they're really difficult to unwrap every evening and keep tidy. I can't hang them anywhere as I have a toddler. Is there any way I can organise then better? There's only one or two lengths of some colours, so not sure using individual winders is sensible.

Are they attached to the card? I had one set where they were sort of glued in so I hole punched the opposite side and threaded the strands I wasn't using in the corresponding hole. They get a bit tangly at times as they're just shoved in my sewing bag wrapped round the card but not too bad

I just have them in hole punches with the long ends all tangled up. I'm here for the answers from people more organised than me!

I hole punch a bit of card and loop each colour through a hole, and draw the symbol on the card.

Tie them onto an embroidery hoop.

Flat bobbins would be easier for you to keep tidy and tangle free.

Meant to say you can use a single bobbin for several different threads. I do it with loads.

Thanks for all the ideas! Might have to tidy up my old bobbin box a bit! Really enjoying getting back in to the rhythm. It's a long time since I've not just spent every evening scrolling twitter and Facebook, while not watching whatever's on TV!
