Recycle - Reuse - Re-craft

I have posted a Recycling craft challenge on the mumsnet crafters blog and thought I would post it here for everyone to have a look at and participate in if you so wish. I thought it was a good idea and something that we can all do for fun.

have a look and sign up here or post a comment on the blog..

you can be added to the blog if you wish by emailing or just putting a link here to images of your recycled crafts.

Calintine- it would be cheating a bit as you made it a year ago.. but it is in the same spirt of the challenge... there is no finished date for it...would love to see your quilt though.

although Whizzz took the challenge to heart and has recycled some old jewellery into new and posted it allready..

come on and try to recycle something new.. or just don't tell me you made it a year ago [hmmm]

oooh I've got three denim skirts that were dd2's that I am planning to turn into one skirt for me - should get on with it really!!

meridian · 17/02/2008 10:26

miaou- perfect.. get on with it!

Well I have cut out 32 squares from the three skirts, and dd2 found a pair of jeans that don't fit her any more either - so I am now making two bags, one for dd1 and one for dd2! The next stage (sewing machine) will have to wait until the dses are in bed though!

This is a great idea, I re use lots of bits for making stuff (am trying to find the time to make a knitters bag out of an old pair of curtains that we took down last week. Does that count?

meridian · 20/02/2008 09:07

ranting- yes that counts, because it is something that would either be thrown out, or left about the house.

Well I have made the body of the first bag, which has been very well received - handles to be added later!

I have just made this felt brooch from a charity shop scarf.
