Website for basic sewing skills

Can anyone recommend a good website for guides to basic skills? I don’t sew, but dd is really keen. She has a sewing machine for Christmas, and she’s powering through learning all sorts of things, but we came unstuck at an instruction to close a project ‘using slip stitch (see page 12)’ and neither of us could make any sense of page 12 at all. It’s tricky sorting through random you-tubers’ thoughts on these things, is there a good place to go for this sort of how-to?

The stitch sisters have a range of online courses, might be worth a look.

Sew over it has a stitch school you can subscribe to. It covers loads of the basics and takes you through making whole things as well, although it's £15 a month so not cheap

I think Tilly and the Buttons has something similar
