Does chunky weight cotton yarn exist?

Dd has meant to knit. We’ve found a great pattern in chunky yarn which will grow fast.

But she gets really bad eczema and can’t really wear anything button cottton. Even small amounts of other fibres irritate her. Acrylic and wool are terrible.

But l can’t find chunky cotton yarn apart from the t shirt stuff which she doesn’t like.

This is 100% Chunky cottom

Cotton hand knitted garments are heavy and stretch out of shape, so a chunky yarn would be down by her knees when she wears it

have you looked on Ravelry for a pattern in a double knit or 4 ply yarn. Summer tops work best in cotton yarns.

but for a beginner cotton is hard to knit with as it has no give and is unforgiving, I wish her all the best as knitting is a brilliant hobby

Coat is a bit high, but if it’s right I’ll go with it.

Ill fry it flat to stop it stretching

4ply would take too long and she’d get fed up.

2 strands of DK held together will give chunky.

How about using 2 strands of lighter weight yarns together?

I think the Hobbi ribbon is the nearest, as it comes in the attractive shade of poo brown that teens seem to love so much.

Is it suitable for jumpers? It just says accessories.

Ribbon would be fine, might give a slightly different look to a "normal" yarn, shouldn't stretch though.

It is not just drying it, when it stretches, it does it when you are wearing it. Starts off at the right size and ends up by your knees after 2 hour’s wearing
