Hi, I've put this here rather than the Christmas board because I figured this was a better way of targetting the right audience, hope no one minds discussion of the C word.

I've been asked what I'd like for Christmas and wondering if anyone has got their own lists that might inspire me. I crochet and am learning to sew and generally like workshops etc in other crafts.

I've had:
Candle making kit
Embroidery kit
Cross stitch kit
Quilling (not quilting) kit.

I liked all of them except the cross stitch, which I found tedious. Some people love it though.

I crochet a lot and have, in the past, asked for particular pattern books and hooks. Or fancy yarn (like metallics).

You could also try things like polymer clay kits, canvases and acrylic paints for fluid art, beads/wire/string/clasps for jewellery making, or woodburning kits. Or ingredients to make bath bombs, or soap.

Yes I was wondering if anyone had any recommendations on things like yarn, hooks, maybe patterns or fabric for sewing, so that's a good shout on hooks. Which ones did you ask for?

I think I'm going to ask for a tilly and the buttons pattern, unless I come across anything else. I also need to see if anything crops up that would work for MIL who knits, crochets and sews. Anyone got anything they're after for knitting?

I like the gradient yarn cakes on Etsy. Mine were from this seller but there are a couple of other ones located in the U.K. www.etsy.com/uk/shop/BramblewoodYarns

A yarn bowl is nice to use with a yarn cake too.

Hooks are very much a person preference so recommendations are tricky - I hate ones with a handle for example as I twist the hook in my hand when using it.

I really love my clover amour hooks. I love my clover yellow and pink stitch markers. I have a great little clover needle holder. I recently bought great foldable scissors at I've made myself a portable craft kit. Happy to show specifics if anyone wants to see. I think for a knitter or crocheter you couldn't go wrong with an attic 24 yarn pack. All stylecraft special, I get on ebay but I think maybe wool warehouse do them. I've got a couple of edie eckman books I'd highly recommend. Borders, motifs and connecting motifs. Diagrams, words, amazing layout. Can show if anyone is interested

I've bought my mum a punch needle kit from Dunelm for her to try.
