Ideas for Christmas cards for kids to make

Last year my kids made all their own Christmas cards - cut out tree and pot stuck on a card and decorated with glitter glue baubles and tinsel. They want to make them again this year and I'm totally out of ideas - everything I think of is too complicated (they're 6 and 4).

Can anyone inspire me please??

TIA

I give mine a piece of paper, tell her to draw Santa or whatever, then I write our names in it and send it off. If you've a load of relatives to get through and your kid gets arm cramp, just photocopy the original drawing!

Go on hobbycraft.co.uk, loads of ideas and lots of stores where you can buy all sorts of creative bits and pieces to make cards and get inspiration.

you could do snowmen this year along the same lines as your tree last year.

With my dds we used to "draw" the outline of a xmas tree with glue pen and then stick tinsel on so that you had a tinsel outline of a tree. Then decorated it with glitter, sequins, stars etc. You need to find thin tinsel though.

You could make a potato print snowflake/tree/snowman and get them to do all the printing and then add glitter.

We did Snowmen on coloured card. Then cut out two white circles for the body and head and then stuck on the appropriate bits out of coloured card, felt etc - hat, eyes, nose, buttons etc. Also added some silver glitter. That was last year. This year I've just bought kits from ELC.

You could cut out a sponge of tree shape (for instance ) and do sponge prints.. Then decorate with sticky on glitzy bits. Wilknson do them dead cheap!

We've done hand prints in green and decorated as christmas trees, with glitter and stuff. You can also prints holding down the middle two fingers and make them in to reindeer - a few extra lines off the upright fingers as antlers and then a node and eyes on the middle bit.

we've done loads of fab ones, i have to keep coming up with different ideas as kids get bored (and so do i )
I cut out some angel bodies and wings out of silver card (just triangles really) and did heads made of glitter glue.
Also we are going to do Rudolph heads with potato prints, red nose with a finger and then black antlers (I may have to draw those).
Also we have cut up last year's cards (I mean ones we received) esp ones with nice little pictures (DS is 5 and can do this quite well) and stuck them on and then decorate with sparkles, glitter glue etc.

We're making gift tags from last years cards. Add a bit of glitter and a Christmas stamp on the back, hole punch and string and its done.

I've bought lots of Xmas sequins and glitter and we're going to have fun sticking them on coloured card in a somewhat abstract fashion! Ds2 is only 21/2 however, so it's only the second year of making cards together and I'm hoping he's not bored of my ideas yet.
